Yes that’s right; according to the “mentor” of Infosys (Narayana Murthy) singing national anthem in the presence of foreigners can “cause embarrassment” to them. Here is what he said:

“The original idea was to have five youngsters sing the National Anthem. Then I felt we had several foreigners and we did not want to put them in an embarrassing position of them being silent and others singing it, so we decided on the instrumental version. This was fine because the National Anthem need not be sung always. The important thing was to show solidarity and our respect,”

So according to this “Indian citizen”, our national anthem is less important than how a bunch of foreigners would feel. Well I got news for you Mr. Murthy, those foreigners wouldn’t even think twice before singing their national anthem even if it insults or causes embarrassment to our entire nation.

And since when did portraying your love and solidarity for your own country became a matter and affair of citizens of other nations?

Even if it is an issue for them, than they are the ones who have to deal with it, not us!

But I guess this is not the way this so called entrepreneur thinks, to him it seems, foreigners matter more than our country and countrymen. And to think, there was talk about him becoming the next president of India!

Well to those who thought/think this is a good idea, I got news for you. Making bunch of money and providing employment to few, does not means a person is fit for such an honor.

I really hope a strict action is taken by the law enforcement agencies and courts to ensure such acts don’t take place again.
