Ferrari’s cheapest sports car, F149

I just came across the news that in the second half of 2008, Ferrari would be launching F149 430 GT.

What is so special about this Ferrari?

Well it would be the cheapest Ferrari Supercar, costing roughly €130,000 when it is launched in 2008 (source: Ferrari Blog).

This means even the cheapest Ferrari would cost over 10 million rupees (without taxes) and still it would be less powerful (50 horses to be precise) than the Shelby 500 which costs less than half of what the F149 would cost!

I guess for most people having the Italian thoroughbred on the front grill is more satisfying than having the American wild Mustang. But hey its not like I wouldn’t want to own one of these Italian horses, in fact I have long dreamt of owning the F50, but I guess that isn’t going to happen any time soon and even if I manage to get enough dough to buy one, I don’t think there will be many for sale in the second hand car market.
