Why should Rahul Dravid remain in the Indian cricket team?

Rahul Dravid has been dropped from the Indian cricket team that would be going to Pakistan and due to this there have been a lot of hoopla in the cricketing fraternity with a lot of ex players coming out in defense of Rahul Dravid, and saying that how could selectors drop a player who had made over 10,000 runs?

rahul dravid

Isn’t this the same guy who has scored a total of 51 runs in the recent series against Australia?

Isn’t he the guy who scored 29 runs in the last four matches of Netwest series with a pathetic average of 7.25 runs per match?

Then why the hell should he be in the international cricket team?

Shouldn’t he be dropped to give a chance to a more deserving candidate, who can play better than him. Yet he maybe sitting on the bench because Rahul, who is playing pathetically now had made tons of runs few years back?

Just because Rahul made 10,000 runs in past, India would be given 2 extra points?

If not then what is the justification for asking a player in poor form to be retained for a crucial series like this?

  1. You are funny,

are you in a job or business. I don’t think you are in a business else you would have understood the term investment and phases.

And in a job if next month you fall ill or are not able to deliver your performance, ask your boss to fire you because your not being able to deliver to the best does not increases the stock price of your company.

If you don’t understand things, keep your mouth shut instead of proving yourself an idiot

  2. BCCI didn’t put a ban on Dravid; they just took him off from the international team till he improved his performance. This is what happens in the business world as well, for instance if my top marketing guy isn’t delivering or is ill, I wouldn’t fire him. However I wouldn’t give him an account which is of utmost importance to my company. I would let him do smaller accounts till his bad phase/illness is over and only then put him on the spot.

It is better to understand a bad deal and cut your losses and move on, then to keep investing in a lost cause and keep on loosing!

Ps. Next time refrain from using this kind of tone while commenting on my blog, I have approved the comment for now but any further comments in such tone wouldn’t be approved!
