Spy cameras
Recently a couple in Delhi was arrested on charges of shoplifting jewelry from a jewelry exhibition.
What’s so special about it?
Well the special thing about it was, police were actually expecting them, knew what they looked like and they knew they will strike at this exhibition!
All this information didn’t come to light due to some informer or intelligence service, but due to security cameras installed at another jewelry exhibition, where this couple had struck earlier. Since both didn’t have any criminal records, it was hard for police to track them down even with the help of their photos. So they planned to ambush them at another jewelry exhibition where the couple was trying to pull another fast one. The saddest thing about the whole episode was the fact that the couple were well educated, in fact the husband was an ex management professor and wife was a teacher in a good private school!
With crimes being committed by people with good background on the rise, it is becoming harder and harder for shopkeepers to keep a tab on potential shop lifters and this is where these spy cameras come in. With the availability of mini spy cameras on the increase and even the wireless spy cameras making their presence felt, it is only time before we start seeing them at even small shops in India. In fact many small shop owners, cloth shops in particular in Tilak Nagar, Karol Bagh and Chandni Chowk have started using them.
I guess installing one at home, pointed towards the main gate with a direct link to my computer would be great for a lazy person like me. Because then I would be able to see who is at the door and can just shout from my chair at door to door sales people, telling them I am not interested in what ever they are selling!
