Don’t listen to critics!
I was just browsing through a travel forum and came across a post where a person wanted to cycle from Delhi to Mumbai and the responses he got from majority of the travelers there were negative! A person even replied that he should only do this if he wants to die!
Now I am not really hot for the idea of cycling from Delhi to Mumbai in the middle of July because:
A. The route is pretty boring
B. It would be pretty hot and humid at that time.
C. There are better routes one can do.
Apart from that, I don’t think there is any other thing going against this trip. Sure accidents happen and people do die, but then again people also die in the comfort of their own home!
There is nothing in this world that you can’t handle, all you need to overcome adversities is courage, determination and commonsense. Majority of the people who say it can’t be done, are the ones who haven’t done it themselves and don’t want you to do it either!
Of course this doesn’t mean that you should do what ever you want and when ever you want without a care in the world. Always do risk assessment, talk to people who have done it earlier and get their feedback on you plans, think with a calm mind about what you are doing and why you are doing it and what you hope to achieve from it. If you still feel what you are doing isn’t going to lead to a certain death or accident, by all means go for it and prove the critics wrong!
