Dexter have you tried thicker grade oil (20w50 normally does the trick) and checked whether or not piston rings are fine?

Can't really comment on No Smoke as I haven't yet used it. But if your bike is consuming oil due to heating excessively, then it might be a better idea to look for the reason behind the overheating issue (most likely due to being run lean).

Hi Mr. Sarkar,

I have a 1978 kz400 then tends to burn oil when it’s at operating temperature. I believe it's coming from around the pistons. Since I know this problem happens only when the engine oil is thinned because of the heat, I was looking into using some Bardahl "NO SMOKE" oil treatment. I called the Bardahl 1-888 number and there tech staff said it’s okay to use this product in my machine. The direction from them is 2 oz per quart. My question to you is: Do you think I should bother with this treatment or leave things the way they are?

Thanks,
