Delhiites show they care…

Saturday, 29th November 2008. Polling day in Delhi for the Delhi assembly elections, a million come to the street, to show they care!

Yes that’s right, during polling of 2008 assembly elections in Delhi, the voter turn out came up to a whopping 60%, 6% (around a million people) higher than the last assembly election and 17% (around 2.5 million) higher then the recently held MCD elections in Delhi.

Why?

To show that we care about what is happening in India and to say with a united voice, NO MORE!

Today the writing is clear on the wall; it is now highly unlikely that congress would come back to power in Delhi. And if this keeps up, highly unlikely that it would come back to power in center, in next year’s election.

Politicians have to sit up and read the writing on the wall, If politicians don’t start taking action, they will be removed. They have to ensure they act tough on terror or they risk loosing their political powers. First such victim of the wind of change was Shivraj Patil, the Ex-Home Minister of India, who had to resign today and whose resignation was accepted readily.

Next up could be the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Vilasrao Deshmukh; who felt that a Hindi movie director needed to present to survey the damage at Taj Hotel in Mumbai after the recent terror attack. Names of top bureaucrats is doing rounds as well and they could be out soon, including the chief of Intelligence Bureau and even the National Security Advisor.

While all this is good, we, the people of India, need to make sure that we continue to apply pressure and keep repeating, NO MORE!
