The 10 rupee bimetallic coin

Here is the photograph of the 10 rupee bimetallic coin. Even though these were made in 2006, I have never seen them before and if it wasn’t for my sister, who brought 5 of these from RBI (Reserve Bank of India), I would have never seen or heard about them.

It seems that RBI only decided to introduce them this year, even though they had been made 3 years back. The 10 rupee coin is made of two metals, with the outer circle being golden in color.

While at first glance it can be passed off as a video game or milk vending machine token, ten rupee coin is strikingly different from other Indian coins in circulation and due to this; I’ll be keeping mine safe with my other coin collection, which I got from my dad.
