Hi Roadslave,
No offence, Let me try to give you my view to a couple of your statements"But they offer something that can’t be explained"". Yeah some like skinny kareena and some likes Aysha takia ;-).There is no explanation for that choice. I own a RE500, within 100 Kms of use there are nuts and bolts falling off.Rusting has started within three weeks" so yeah I agree that RE is not plastic. So I agree with you that some things cant be explained :-).The so called plastic bikes have perfection going into every bits and pieces to the last bolt. The perfection has been achieved as a result of sweat and brains that is put in by the R&D team.I have been a hard core biker and the only reason I got a RE instead of any other bike because my usage is less than 1000 kms a year and did not want to have a obsolete model in my garage even after 10 years and for its antique value.Somehow I regret my decision of buying a RE instead of a Honda,The amount of money and effort one spends on maintaining a RE can be used to refresh your machine every 5 to 10 years How much ever you argue, Plastic bikes are fun to drive, they offer practicalty and economy. They are more safer at 50+ kmph due to their handling. However I convince myself that the RE is a better bike I am not able to.

Now with regards to the ""67 bullet still surviving"" it is purely due the availability of spares. High demand for spares and no design changes over decades have resulted in lesser inventory management for the spare part shops. If you look at the AVL engine spares, they is already a crunch, only reason is the demand is low due to the low number of bikes. No shops want to keep them.

Why do you use a Cellphone when you have the good old landlines? Very simple reason.. Newer technology makes life easier, Same goes for bikes too... One has to accept it....

Yogesh your reasons are the same reasons why most people are apprehensive about bullets. The fact is that all your points are true. They are heavy, drink fuel, high price and maintenance etc etc. But they offer something that can't be explained. The whole jap crap plastic thing is fine, let's not say "plastic riders" are innocent either. Constant jibes about it from 90% of plastic riders about the engine capacity to speed and performance ratio are examples of why these morons know nothing about vehicles. The fact is that my thunderbird has given me issues and but i used to ride a honda shine and i just can't ride those bikes any more because they just can't offer the experience that a bullet does.
Enfields last forever. My friend has a '67 and another has a '73 that run as good as knew, agree with me or not a pulsar will be close to death if it's any where near 15yrs old. I'm not arguing with you, your view is perfectly legit just had to express my view when i stumbled upon this. As long as you are a true rider, you have my respect.

I don't buy bikes based on the construction material. I buy them based on the fact, whether or not they fulfill my criteria, irrespective of the fact, whether they are plastic or a waterpump with wheels!
