Chail: A Perfect weekend Getaway

Continued from the previous page

After satisfying our hunger for exploration, we headed back to the road. Only to stop every few kms for more photography.

When we reached Kufri we were overwhelmed by the sheer no of tourists there, it has always amazed me how people like to stick to a well known over crowed place, when they can have so much fun if they were to go just couple of kms off the track. We got out of Kufri as soon as possible and started cruising on the NH-22, even though Nh-22 was bigger and smoother then the state roads, but it didn't have the charm or the beauty of state roads that we had just left.

But the smooth NH-22 made Shamik go on a leaning frenzy and he insisted on having his photo shot while tackling a high-speed corner.

After we crossed Shimla, Shamik once again showed us his talent

While returning not only did we encounter a large amount of traffic, we also encountered a large number of weekend drivers. The kind of people who think the road is their and no one else has the right to be on it. After lots of near misses, we decided we had enough and stopped at a Dhaba for a late lunch. After eating to full it was time to leave and bid farewell to Himalayas.

After relax cruising on the Nh-1 I managed to reach home by 10:15pm. After almost a year I rode so slowly and took so many breaks, it truly was an Weekend Getaway. In two days even though we had covered only 800kms, but we did it in a relaxed manner and had lots of fun in the process.

Total Expenditure for me including fuel, stay and food = Rs.1300

Petrol used = 20 Liters (40kmpl average)
