Jamwa Ramgarh Tal

This route was turning out to be more scenic and this meant frequent breaks for photos.

Taking a state road has its plus and minus points. Most of the time the state road is more scenic and has vary few vehicles, on the other hand you can never be sure if the road on the map exists or not. some thing we found out when we reached Raiser.
The NH-11a given on the highway was still under construction and ended only a few kms beyond raiser. after asking for direction we had to back track for a few kms and then go down a road that would take us closer to Jaipur!
But all I can think was, why cant all roads be as beautiful as this...

After riding for couple of kms, Salil came beside me and pointed some thing out. At that moment I couldn't spot anything and when I stopped, I spotted a small pond that Salil was trying to point out. Next thing we knew, all of us were going offroad to reach the small pond..

After spending half an hour, it was time to head back. But as soon as we got back on the road, a light drizzle started, with Delhi - Jaipur highway just 15kms away and empty stomachs, we rode hard and fast. Around 5o'clock we were back on the highway, some 230kms+ away from Delhi. We decided to stop for lunch at a Dhaba, while there the rain started picking up.
Apart from Salil, neither of us was wearing anything waterproof, but we couldn't wait for the rains to stop. With most vehicles running for cover, highway wore a deserted look.
Heavy downpour, coupled with a tinted visor and darkness was beginning to make an impact on my vision, with no other choice, I started riding with my visor open.
At one point, rain was coming down so hard on my eyes that I had to slow down to 40kmph and signal Manik and Salil to stop at a nearby tea stall. When we stopped, Manik and I were totally soaked and shivering from cold. By this time I knew it will be difficult for me to ride from now on, with no street light and headlights of oncoming traffic blinding me and hard rain, it will be almost impossible for me to ride with my helmets visor. and riding without it meant, water would go straight into my eyes. I told Manik and Salil to continue riding in case I am not able to continue at their pace.
With rain slowing down a bit we started riding hard and fast in an attempt to cover as much distance as possible before the heavy rain starts again. it wasn't long before the heavy downpour resumed, I motioned Salil to ride ahead while I slowed down to 40kmph.
This was the last time I would see the duo for the rest of the ride, with rain getting harder and harder with every passing moment, my speed started to drop as well. At one point I was forced to ride at 25kmph, on a stretch which never saw me ride bellow 80kmph on normal days.
Next couple of hours were the toughest to ride on, with speed ranging from 25kmph to 50kmph. At one point, horns my bike started honking by themselves, probably due to water entering the switchgear. But I had no other option rather then to continue, I didn't wanted to stop. And the rest of the journey was completed with couple of 5minutes breaks to stretch my legs.
Reached home at 10:45pm and now it was time to reflect upon the 17hour 15minute ride, which covered 583kms and 5hours of continues riding in rain. apart from dirty cloths and a mud covered bike, the ride was fantastic. Cant wait to once again get on my bike, go for another ride like this.
