After Salil brought Canon 350d on Tuesday, I knew it would be only days before he will itching to go out do some photography. But I never knew that he would call me, the vary next day.
After he called me up in the afternoon, we both decided it was best to test the powers of 350d in darkness. add to that I was dying to use my newly brought tripod. In the evening I went over to his home in Noida and both of us headed out to Tughluqabad-fort near Mehrauli.
Once there we found that fort closes at 7o’clock and it was 7:40pm when we reached there. But we were not about to back out and proceeded to the gate of the fort to setup our tripods and start shooting photos. But we were interrupted by the security guard who asked to do the photo shoot from the lawns instead. Not a bad deal according to us and we proceed to start our photo shoot.
Illuminated Tughluqabad-fort was looking majestic and we got some terrific shots.

After shooting for an hour or so we decided to head over to India Gate. Once there we saw India Gate crowded as usual and thought of waiting it out and in the meanwhile took some shots from side lawns.

However later we came to know that lights at India Gate are switched off at 10pm!!! And we only came to know about this, when the lights were switched off, bad for us since we hadn’t taken even a single shot from the front. But then again, those kind of shot are taken by every one and with the lights switched off it was looking mysterious.

In the next shot, Police car cam in the middle and created a lovely effect (notice how lights from beacon end just before India gate)

After we were done shooting India Gate, Salil noticed flags that were placed on the lamp post and we decided they made good shooting targets.

By 12:30am we had enough and decided to head back home, but I am certain that we will be doing more such outings in the future.
