Changed brakes myself for the first time

For the first time in my life, I thought about changing the brakes of my motorcycle. Having brought both the front disk pads and rear drum brakes earlier in the day, it was time to try it for the first time. At first I had to struggle a little bit to get the get the caliper unmounted, after I was through doing that. I discovered that one of the piston wasn’t working! After a lot of struggle I managed to push it back, but it wouldn’t come out. In the end I had the bleed the whole system to get the piston to start working.Â

Then came the task of installing rear drum brakes, which was easier, then the disk episode, but tough none the less. Since it was first time in my life I was removing the rear wheel, but in the end I managed to do it. Total time it took to get both the brakes changed was around two and half hour, but I learnt a lot today and did save Rs.50. Even though it was a tiring experience, but it was fun to care for my sweetheart.Â
