A friend of mine called me a while back regarding the newly launched motorcycle from Hero Honda, called CBZ X-treme. He had called me to express his utter disappointment regarding this launch; he was disappointed with this motorcycle since he thought it would be a higher capacity version of the legendry CBZ and was also disappointed by the looks of the motorcycle. Â
I understand that he was disappointed by the launch of this particular model, however discounting a motorcycle even before it has been tested is not some thing that I expected of him nor some thing I appreciated.
As far as the looks of CBZ X-treme go, well I would have to see it in flesh to pass my judgment, however the front bikini fairing does look like an eye sore, but then again the different people look at things differently and one persons eye sore might be eye candy for another.
However one thing that we all have to remember is the fact that CBZ X-Treme is the most powerful 150cc motorcycle in India at this moment, well at least on paper. Here are the specifications of the Hero Honda CBZ X-treme:

Going by the specification of this motorcycle, it looks to be quite a performer with the class leading power. What remains to be seen is how well Hero Honda is able to market CBZ X-Treme, going by the commercials that had created the initial stir its going to be good as well.
However the future of CBZ X-Treme will depend on the consumers who will be enticed by the fan following the original CBZ had and the fact Hero Honda motorcycles normally do quite well in the Indian market. What remains to be seen is whether or not it has a good fuel economy, which is quite essential in the Indian market and one of the reason why CBZ didn’t sell in large numbers….
