Got the motorcycle prepared for Crazy Himalayan Ride

Like I said yesterday, my bike was in need of some long overdue TLC, so I visited my favorite mechanic last evening, to get a few things fixed/changed.

After a test ride, my mechanic decided to change the Timing Chain, Clutch and Pressure Plates, Clutch Bell, Spark Plug and Engine Oil. Apart from this, he also adjusted the Tappets and Cone Set.

Total damage came out to be Rs. 1,020 for parts and labor and Rs. 165 for a liter of Engine Oil, which I had purchased earlier.

Now the engine is producing normal sounds and is ultra smooth, ready to be ripped on the highway this weekend.

Oh yes for the first time I also used Petronas Sprinta 4T 2000, SAE 20W-50 API SG mineral engine oil. Though the thing I found strange was the fact that despite Sprinta 4T 2000 being motorcycle engine oil, there was no mention of it conforming to the JASO MA specification.

Hopefully it would be good and would be able to withstand my style of riding.
