Here is a video of Dheeraj and me riding down from Baralacha La pass (16,500ft) on the Manali – Leh highway, this video is from last year’s ride to Ladakh in September.
Dheeraj is riding his Black Bajaj Pulsar 150 and I am riding my Red Bajaj Pulsar 180 and the video was shot by me through my Kodak cx7430 digital cam, mounted on my shoulder.

Great video – I was a bit concerned about those trucks coming towards you! I don’t think they really cared you were there.

Thanks Chris, while it might have looked that way in the video, majority of the truckers in Ladakh do care, especially on the Manali – Leh highway. If you watch the video closely, you can hear trucks breaking while we are overtaking them and you can also see Dheeraj raising his hand and honking to thank them and it does get reciprocated by one of the truck drivers with a honk.
Hi Yogesh This trip of your seems to be in Sept-Oct sometime, there is no snow around. We visited leh by car in June 2003 and the roads were not so broad and there was snow all around. The video gives a very good idea about the condition of roads.I’ll see if I can find a picture of our trip at Baralacha LA and post it to you.
