Ladakh 2010 travel season to begin soon!

In what should be great news for Ladakh hopefuls this year, 2010 Ladakh travel season is all set to begin in less than a month’s time.

According to BRO, work to clear the Zoji La pass on the Srinagar – Leh highway is in full swing and the pass should be motorable in 20-25 days (provided weather doesn’t turn bad). Work is also on to clear the Manali – Leh highway and in particular Rohtang Jot, however as usual, it would be the Srinagar – Leh highway, which would open first.

Like last year, we at BCMTouring have started new threads to monitor the status of both the highways to Ladakh and would be providing latest information from various sources, including from fellow BCMTians, who are getting all ready to once again explore the moonscape of Ladakh.

Here are the links to the Ladakh road status threads:

Manali – Leh road status, 2010

Srinagar – Leh road status, 2010

While I haven’t yet decided, whether or not I am visiting Ladakh this year, one this is for sure, more and more travelers and BCMTians will be heading to Ladakh this year.

What about you?
