First step to becoming an Amateur Photographer!

Photography has always been something that I have been interested in, for as long as I could remember. When I was little (as far back as I can remember), I used to bug my dad to let me use his Chaika 3, a Russian half film fully manual compact camera that my dad had.

I got my first real taste of photography after buying a 1.3mp Frontech digital camera, which also doubled up as a webcam, and that was soon followed by my Kodak CX7430 Digital Camera, which allowed me to take decent enough photographs during all three of my Ladakh trips and the solo Spiti ride.

However it wasn’t until I bought a Canon A720IS digital camera, that I finally started experimenting a little with my photography and it was eventually my transition to the Canon 1000D, which made me take an even keener interest in to photography and helped me produce a photograph, I consider as the best one I have taken till date and also the most artistic.

As I look ahead to the upcoming year and beyond, I know I want to take my photography to the next level and I also know in my heart, that I want to able to make it much more than just another hobby. Which is why, I fully intend to turn an amateur in the coming year (see here for the various level of photographer).

So as a first baby step, towards becoming an Amateur Photographer, I have developed and launched a dedicated photography page on Facebook, which will showcase to the world, my portfolio and in a way, my vision ahead.

I look forward to receiving feedback, advices, encouragement and hopefully a few likes as well, so please head on over to Yogesh Sarkar Photography and let me know, what you think of my first baby step…
