In a bid to promote tourism in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir Government is developing an 18-hole Golf Course near Leh, at the town of Shey.
As per the news reports, state tourism minister, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora himself inspected the development progress of the golf course in Shey yesterday, which is expected to be completed in October next year (2013).
While I am no Golf fan, in fact I haven’t even played golf yet; I cannot help but see a certain charm in playing golf at 10,000ft in beautiful golf course spread over 190 acres, next to the Indus River, with beautiful landscape all around, which will no doubt attract quite a few golfers as well as tourists and locals.
Heck I might just visit Ladakh next year or year after that, in order to catch a glimpse of it and maybe even to play my first real life golf game at one of my favorite holiday destination, Ladakh.

Nice idea, but i think other much better things could have been done to promote tourism.. Some mountain/ snow sports or mountain gliding… Etc
