At times when we scold those we love,
In a situation not much different from us,
We realize we aren’t actually scolding them,
Rather scolding ourselves through others.
Because we are not stating something to them,
But rather to ourselves.
Because we know what is wrong and what needs to be done,
Yet we are so engrossed in our quagmire,
That we do not do what needs to be done.
So by scolding others we reach out to ourselves,
Tell ourselves to get our act together.
We seem excessively angry when doing this,
Because we aren’t shouting at them,
We are shouting at ourselves,
Telling us to get our shit together!
