Hotel Highway King, Jaipur, Review

Hotel Highway King is my regular pit stop while traveling on the Delhi – Jaipur, and Jaipur – Kishangarh Highway. Earlier, there used to be one before Jaipur. Now there are 2 located on either side of Delhi – Jaipur Highway and another couple of Highway Kings located on the Jaipur – Kishangarh Expressway.

Since the Bagru one is average at best. We decided to stop at the Highway King located on the outskirts of Jaipur, while coming back from Pushkar. This one is located right where the Jaipur Bypass flyover ends when you’re going to Kishangarh. So if like us, you’re coming back from a trip to Rajasthan, you will have to take a uturn to reach this place.

Hotel Highway King at Heerapura (Jaipur) looks newer and better built than others, with completely indoor restaurant and a lot more courteous staff and floor managers taking feedback from customers towards the end of meal.

In fact, the service was so good that when we told them that we didn’t like paneer lababdar, they recook it as per the feedback of my friend and made it just as per his taste!

Now coming to the food, we ordered paneer lababdar, aloo-gobhi, dal kabila and bundi ka raita along with laccha paratha, roti, butter naan and bajare ki roti.

While the paneer lababdar was made good after my friend’s feedback, the aloo gobhi was just about alright as per my taste, but my friend who doesn’t like spicy food loved it.

I had ordered Dal Kabila and it was absolutely delicious, even though it was a little bit on the spicy side. Butter naan too was good and the bajare ki roti was quite soft and tasted well.

Bundi ka raita was good, though it had red chili in it, so in case you’re looking for raita without chili (which my friend was), then make sure to mention it at time of ordering. I, on the other hand, loved it.

The only thing I didn’t like was the chaach, it was too thick to be called chach and was more like a masala lassi.

Additionally, they don’t have any dal-baati or churma, in case you’re looking for it.

Overall, I enjoyed my lunch at Hotel Highway King on the outskirts of Jaipur. It seems to their best outlet and the food is priced similar to other outlets as well, so it makes sense to stop here, rather than anywhere else.
